Chartered Psychologist | Clinical Consultant | EMDR Consultant | BABCP-Accredited CBT Supervisor | Trainer | Founder, C.A.R.E.S. Model™

Clinical consultation, supervision and training for clinicians, teams and organisations working with complexity.

When clinical work becomes complex, teams can lose clarity, confidence and consistency. I help clinicians and organisations step back, make sense of what is happening and develop psychologically informed ways forward.

How I Work

My work is relational, trauma-informed and clinically grounded.

I pay attention not only to the clinical material, but also to the clinician’s experience of holding the work and the wider context in which care is taking place.

My role is often to help people step back from complexity, identify what matters most and think more clearly about what may be needed next.

I aim to create spaces that are warm, thoughtful and collaborative, safe enough for honesty, while offering the support and appropriate challenge needed for meaningful professional growth.

You May Be Looking for Support If…

  • your team is struggling to make sense of complex or high-risk presentations
  • staff responses have become inconsistent
  • clinicians feel stuck around formulation, risk, boundaries or next steps
  • emotionally demanding work is affecting confidence or decision-making
  • your team needs a more shared psychological understanding of the people they support
  • you are developing a clinical approach, resource or service and would value psychological input
  • you want to support experienced clinicians to think more clearly about complex work

Sometimes the need is for a focused consultation. At other times, training, supervision or a more sustained piece of clinical input may be more useful.

Consultancy

I provide clinical consultation for clinicians, teams and organisations working with complex and emotionally demanding clinical work.

My role is to bring an experienced psychological perspective to difficult situations — helping people think clearly about formulation, risk, relational dynamics, uncertainty, professional judgement and the wider context in which the work is taking place.

I also offer collaborative psychological input where organisations are developing clinical resources, services or health-related products.

Further information is available on the Consultancy page.

Supervision

I offer individual and group supervision for therapists and clinicians working with trauma, complex presentations and emotionally demanding clinical work.

My supervision draws on EMDR, CBT, trauma-informed and integrative clinical thinking, with particular attention to formulation, relational dynamics, risk, dissociation, therapist responses and professional development.

Further information is available on the Supervision page.

Training & CPD

I provide clinically grounded training for therapists, supervisors, teams and organisations working with trauma, complexity and emotionally demanding clinical work.

Training can be tailored to the needs of a particular team, service or organisation and may also form part of a wider piece of clinical consultation.

Further information is available on the Training & CPD page.

The C.A.R.E.S. Model™

C.A.R.E.S. grew out of something I kept noticing in my own clinical work and in supervision: we can know what to do clinically and still find it difficult to stay grounded, connected and clear when the work becomes emotionally demanding.

Connect · Attune · Resource · Establish Boundaries · Settle

These five movements bring attention back to the clinician — not instead of the client or intervention, but as part of what makes thoughtful clinical work possible.

C.A.R.E.S. reflects a central thread running through my work: supporting clinicians to remain present, relationally attuned, appropriately boundaried and professionally resourced when working with complexity.

The model now informs aspects of my supervision, training and consultation.

Consultancy, Supervision & Training Enquiries

I welcome enquiries from clinicians, teams and organisations seeking clinical consultation, supervision, training or collaborative psychological input.

If you are unsure what kind of support would be most useful, an initial conversation can help clarify what is happening, what you would like to change and what kind of input may be the best fit.

My work is guided by warmth, curiosity, clinical clarity and respect for the complexity of both people and systems.
